Your gorgeous baby is born you may think about having a baby shower. One thing a lot of people overlook is the fact that the guest’s need entertaining, adults and babies alike!
Baby shower game ideas can be hard to dream up so a lot of people turn to the internet. These are often different versions of classic party games. Here are a few baby shower games you might like to try.
1. Pin the bottle on the baby
using a large poster board and a magic marker, draw a large picture of a baby. On a separate piece of paper, draw and cut out a picture of a bottle and stick double sided tape on the back. Blindfold your guests and have them try to stick the bottle on the baby’s mouth. The person closest to the intended target wins. The babies cant really join in but the older ones find it funny.
2. Bottle bowling
Set up 10 baby bottles in a classic bowling arrangement, might work best in a hallway type area. Give guests a tennis ball or other small ball, and have them try to knock down all 10 bottles. The person with the best score wins.
4. Bottle ring toss
Take the nipple rings off several baby bottles and have guests toss the rings into the container from a fair distance away, or make it horseshoe style by having them try to toss the rings around a bottle nipple.
5. Pregnant belly races
Have the guest’s stuff their shirts with balloons until they can fit no more then have races around the garden or home, penalty points will be added for dropped or popped balloons.
Use your imagination and your party goers will have a great time. Keep the theme of your games as closely related to baby stuff as possible. Remember the aim is to have fun whilst celebrating the birth of your bundle of joy……And get a few free gifts from your loved ones.
If you prefer a more relaxed atmosphere rather than a hectic sprint around the house, there are non action games you can play.
1. Who wants to be a millionaire.
Not quite, but you could write down a list of baby related questions to test your party goers knowledge of babies. Can be funny to discover how little people actually know.
2. Ten seconds
Give guests ten seconds to name as many different things in a given baby subject. The person or team with the most wins.
3. Guess who
A little forward planning is needed here. Ask your guests in advance to bring along a picture of themselves as a baby. All the photos are placed in a hat and picked at random. Everyone must try and guess who the baby is.
4. Alphabet game
Go through the crowd one after the other and each one must say a baby name from the letter of the alphabet that lands on them. How many names can you think of beginning with ‘x’?!
5. Add lib
Write out a story about a trip a baby is taking and then cut out certain words that are to be replaced by your guests.
With a little thought those baby shower game ideas start to flood in. Be imaginative and maybe give away a small prize.
There are some great resources on the internet. And some offer full packages at bargain prices, may be just what you need to save yourself a little time.
