Can you imagine your home being struck by lightning? Well, it just so happened to a client.

It’s true and, although the house caught fire and made it uninhabitable, not all was a total loss for this beautiful family of five.

Even before the fire, the family was beginning to outgrow the home. Certain aspects just weren’t functional, and definitely didn’t reflect the family’s current lifestyle and passions. Plus, there were the DIY projects that didn’t quite match the high professional quality they had imagined.

The home was in an excellent location near great schools, the family’s church, and near many of their life-long friends. The couple had purchased the house as newlyweds and, thankfully, the structural bones survived and we could rebuild after the fire.

We started by opening up their somewhat compartmentalized common spaces, creating one large, open, light and bright room that’s perfect for entertaining!

The kitchen design was the top priority, and we came up with a design inspired by themes of cooking as a family and sharing quality times together.

We also enlarged the laundry room with a fabulous drop zone for kids backpacks, shoes, and athletic gear!

Adding a fifth bedroom, closets and a walk-in attic to the second floor provides more space for sleepovers with friends and family and terrific storage.

And, how about his-and-her closets?

We converted the old office into a large and luxurious closet for Mom, leaving the original master closet for Dad.

Oh, did we mention we’re all pet lovers?!

The dogs weren’t forgotten – we created an indoor “dog house” under the staircase – no more unsightly and floor-space gobbling kennels.

Many creative ideas came from the close collaboration between the design team, homeowners and general contractor – we made every bit of available space functional and beautiful!

We specialize in beautifully functional spaces that are inviting, reflect your lifestyle and effortlessly express your personality.
